Medicaid - Is It For You?

It is understood that the cost of medical services and medications today are very high. To get sick means you will need to have a lot of expenses to take care of. But what about those people who are in need of medical assistance, but they cannot afford it? Is there still a possibility of them being able to get the help they need? The answer to that lies in Medicaid. As the term implies, this gives aid to people who need medical attention but cannot afford it themselves.
Medicaid was established by the Social Security Act of 1965, a large part of President Lyndon B. Johnson0s 0Great Society0 0 also known as the War on Poverty. Even though Medicaid is actually a federal government program, it is administered on a state level. In fact, it is not even mandatory for every state to participate, it0s voluntary. But, all fifty states have opted into the Medicaid program so they can capture their share of the Medicaid pie for their constituents.

Medigap Insurance Fills Holes Left By Medicare

We already know that health insurance should help us out when it comes to medical expenses. A lot of people will require more medical attention than others, especially those men and women who have reached a certain age. With this, it is important to have a back up plan in case medical help will be needed. Medicare is one such example of the insurance that aims to cover for expenses as necessary.
Medicare was enacted by the US government in the 19600s as a means of providing medical benefits and support for retirees, or those who are above the age of 65.
